All you need is a bow.

Sweaters and stocking to keep warm during the holidays is way more fun than always having to wear pants. I enjoy adding a lil spice to my outfits and no better way than adding a bow. Take any long ribbon you have laying around and tie it loosely over a sweater. It looks wonderful with collared blouses as well, tied snug around and under the collar as if it were a tie.

The skirt is a dress, gift from my momma last X-mas, the sweater was an item in my mommas closet from college and the bow is just a long ribbon. You can pair a sweater with most dresses and get an entirely different look.

Going hard at the Edison

It was my Birthday. We all wore black and dressed up for the Edison. i
The Edison is a blast from the past more of a roaring 20's vibe, my hair was short, but not styled like the 20's and my dress was very fitting with a deep neck, unlike the loose fitting dresses they wore with their Cloche hats. But I definitely went for a mixture of old school and brought it to 2012
It was entirely made up of Sequins with a beautiful diamond studded broach over the side button.

Ballston!

Its the ring

My grandmas ring, a good luck ring, every item on this ring was something that was good luck to her. Its one of my favs. And means a lot to me.

Gobble Gobble

Every year I make the trip home to Virgina for Thanksgiving. I look forward to it every year and sometimes lucky enough to bring someone special along with me for the joyous occasion. Its an absolutely wonderful time of friends and family. I spend hours in the kitchen with my mom cooking and reminiscing, and upon everyone's arrival we are hostesses with the mostest. Setting out the h'orderves and filling up glasses and hearts with laughter and love. I am very thankful for my family, and friends I consider family. Their unconditional love for me is priceless and as I get older value the relationships in my life on a much deeper level. Life is incredibly short and the moments in our lives should be savored.

And we dress up to savor our turkey and mashed potatoes.

A visit to my dads after the even at my mommas.

This dress is amazing, $20 from a consignment shop and belt vintage as well.

I hope everyone had a lovely memorable Thanksgiving, with much to be thankful for.

SLS - Silk leather suspenders

I paired leather braided suspenders from H&M $5, with leather Miley Cyrus ( ewe haha) pants from Walmart , yes Walmart $5 a Christian Dior silk home made blouse that used to be an extremely long night neglige, of my moms, killed it, and topped it off with my America Apparel hounds-tooth jacket factory outlet priced at @ $40. And of course my best friends Jeffrey Campbells.

Purple, and creme  Este Lauder eye shadow, with black liquid eyeliner and the good old Maybeline full and soft mascara. Purple is a great accent eye popper for green eyes.

Simple and steezy

Weekly nail job.

So there Is this place called the swap meet on the west side on lincoln. It could be considered Venice. Well this is where you should by nail polish if you buy as often as I. There are a bunch of vendors thought the building selling everything from $1000 jewelry to socks, wigs, and yes nail polish ... Hell yes. In the back middle is a lil Asian ladies store and she sells a glorious selection of nail polish for 1 buck each. It's called Klean kolor. My secret is out. Handle it .

Hair steeze

There is this lovely bun like do I love to wear. I will post tutorials this week. Its a go to doo when in a hurry.

Blue is in my heart.

Buffalo Exchange is one of the best places to find original clothing at wonderful prices your wallet will love. A few nights ago I went to sell a trash bag full of cloths. Yes, You can sell and buy cloths @ http://www.buffaloexchange.com/ , If you are not familiar with this place check them out, you will love what you find! Its a good will/consignment shop with a twist. In my opinion the best time to go would be at night or on the weekdays when everyone in town isnt there with the same plan as you. The line is shorter, and the shopping experience is better, when not sharing your hunt through the racks with other pusher and shovers. I found some a couple treasures. My eyes are loving this electric blue color this season.

I love the pleats and I love the color. $15. The belt is this lovely gold stretchy piece that adjust to any shape, size or outfit, for only $20, I snagged this from another consignment shop on another treasure hunt. And this Jacket hand stitched was $50 with beautiful detail.

All you need to complete an outfit is the right accessories and proper outer-ware, especially for the cool weather approaching this season. This coat was gorgeous, too large but nothing a tailor cannot fix.

The intricate detail on this fabric caught my eye from across the room. Love at first sight, so far it only exists in clothing for me.

Nail Job.

I have painted my nails again. What a surprise. This is a weekly if not every other day ritual. They look superb, but I feel like photos do not do justice, even make look worse. But oh well, you get the picture, from the picture :)  I add filters at times but Photo shop is not part of my deal. Maybe one day I will make photos for my blog "more professional" by editing and using a nicer camera. But I feel my photos from my iphone give it a lil more personality, and keep it personal.  At this point I like it that way, will keep it that way, and hope everyone enjoys it that way.

Nail art makes me happy.

Every nail job I give myself. No tape no help. :) I have skill,  it should be my second form of income.. haha.

Its almost Friday, I can't wait ;-)

Food! It's the best reason to get out of the house.

Ally and I love Urth cafe. The people watching, the environment and of course the bomb food! We pigged out, to say the least.

Yes, yumm.

Pair a dress with a sweater and a thin belt, with some stockings and boots.  A thin belt keeps a slimer look with so much fabric. Stay warm and flowy.

F21 grey long sleeve dress, a hand me down sweater, earrings ( perfect color) and boots from my oh so fashionable Mom, and so polka-dotted thigh highs.

Don't these rock!!!?

It was cold.....

My fuzzy hat, $10 from F21 last winter, I wear this so much worth more than I paid!

\

H&M sponsored this out fit. Padded elbow tan sweater $17 Giraffe sweater someone close to me gave me from H&M, Steve Madden oxford heels my fav! and some socks.... bundled up!

The end. With love. M.Fine

Vintage madness! Horray

So my best friend Ally ( she will be famous on my page) and I had plans to do responsible things. She needed to study, I needed to get errands done, and some important things off my to do list checked off.  It started with a late breakfast with our favorite, "Main street Mayor Johnny B!" ( He is not the mayor but he knows everyone, and everyone loves JB) And we love Johnny B, he knows how to put a smile on your face and leave you with the best out looks on life. Lots of laughter and shit talking ( not people shit talking, more like making fun of each other at the table)  occurred followed by big hugs and see you laters, see you later this weekend for Allys epic birthday weekend. wooohoo.

We departed and intended to go take care of business, this didn't happen. Off we went to the lil consignment shop on Main street. When we first walked in, the vedors we stumbled upon in the front of the store were not tickling our fancies at all.  Totally not in the mood to scrounge for anything at all. But finally in the very back corner we found vintage Heaven!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH. And our mood for clothing hunting was sparked by the love of well made items, intricately designed, with beautiful quality fabrics, of that is so unfortunately rare these days.

The black sequins blazer, Ally did buy this, and that means I get to share this bute, hehe. And the was a very desired pink jacket, for a whooping $400 bucks! Not happening. But was so fun to strut in the mirror. And my favorite color at this moment in fashion, cobalt blue,  jacket was very affordable, and I was swimming in it. Boo.

It was like we rented the lil shop in the back all to ourselves and had a personally shopping day. And it began. We were taking off our cloths and trying on every piece of clothing on the racks in this gold mine, ooooing and ahhing. Before we knew it hours had passed, and it was time to check out, Ally hit the jack pot... and I helped her decide what was worth buying, what was the best purchase and helped her pick out her amazing birthday outfit for this weekend.

I absolutely positively want this dress only for $80.... but I dont need it, I want it, and this trend will not last.... If it is still residing in this shop in a few months, maybe ill give it a new home ;)

It was an absolute blast. Not one person bothered us as we had our personal shopping mission in that lil corner in the back. We cleaned up our mess said our good byes and we will definitely be back soon.

A couple of bad ass beaded 80s jackets .... at jaw dropping digits... eff

The color of this beautiful winter coat, was an amazing emerald green that I could not capture on my i phone no matter how hard I tried. It was all leather and not a huge splurge. Only $150, but I was enforcing a strict need only basis rule.

These two leather jackets were more than amazing, and more than our wallets can stand... each starting at $350 or more. But despite the prices this did not stop numerous movie montages.
